attention, to have all your senses vibrant, sharp
and clear. Work hard, play hard, feel powerfully
alive.
A bored woman thought to take a trip to the desert. She
had been in most places and nothing excited her much any
more; she was hoping that the extremes of day and night
might be somewhat stimulating.
As it happened, her caravan was swept up in a sand storm
and she got lost; much later she was discovered and
saved by a group of desert people, who took her back to
their camp. Here, she met the prince of the desert.
He was beautiful but stern; and he demanded she should
work for her living in the day, and dance for him at
night.
She kicked and spit but after a week or two, she noticed
she had become much stronger; and everything was more
profoundly wonderful, shocking to the senses, powerful
life forces surging through her - and for the first time
ever she was glad she was alive. |
