I Shall

What shall I wear
when time is here
when time is near
when all eyes turn
to me and see?

Who shall I be
by his side
I am his bride
or he is mine,
whichever way?

What shall I think
when the bells ring
when the choirs sing
when as one we walk
towards the carriage?

And what will I know
where will I go
beyond, "I love you so"
the other side of me
revealed, unravelled?

What will I do
when we go to bed
a stranger instead
of just him and me
the way it always was?

I shall wear flowers
in my hair,
stand strong and fair,
shall die with honour,
awaken new, in grace.
