Song Lyrics

Rainstorm

by Silvia Hartmann

Morning glory rising
and with gentle hand
I stroke a strand of hair
from your face
and you nuzzle a little
and you give a little sound
I want to kiss you
but I cannot break your dreams.

Opened my eyes
to a sunny day,
the colours seem
impossibly bright
little sparks of diamond
on my window pane
there must have been
a rainstorm in the night.

I feel the radiation
from your sleepy shape
if I closed my eyes
I'd sense your present sum
and I can feel you breathing,
soft and deep
and match my breath until
we breathe as one

Opened my eyes
to a sunny day,
the colours seem
impossibly bright
little sparks of diamond
on my window pane
there must have been
a rainstorm in the night.

Contact points
where we enfolded and embraced,
resonant clouds of memories in the room
my fingers tingle
with remembered sense of skin and hair
I stretch and smile
I'll have to wake you soon.

I opened my eyes
to a sunny day,
the colours seem
impossibly bright
little sparks of diamond
on my window pane
there must have been
some rainstorm in the night.
